Sloppy Joe got even better by mixing macaroni and lots of cheese!

This recipe combines two of my favorite childhood recipes. Sloppy Joe’s and Mac n Cheese in one, and it’s even better! The basis of this recipe is a mixture of beef and sloppy Joe beans, which adds the extra broth with the macaroni noodles and the macaroni is cooked directly in the Sloppy Joe pan. While the pasta is cooking, a super light cheese sauce is made with real cheddar cheese and once cooked, it is mixed with the Sloppy Joes. The combination of delicious beefy Sloppy Joes with cream and super cheesy mac and cheese is simply divine! Pure comfort food for all occasions!

Sloppy Joe Mac n cheese
Preparation Time: 10 Minutes
Cooking Time: 30 Minutes
Total Duration: 40 Minutes
Servings: 8

Ingredient:

For the Sloppy Joe macaroni:

6 strips of bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
1 Pound Of Minced Meat
1 onion, diced
3 cloves of garlic, chopped
1 Teaspoon Of Paprika
1 Tablespoon Of Tomato Paste
3 cups beef broth (or water)
2 cups macaroni (~8 ounces)
1 (14.5 oz.) canned beans, rinsed and drained (optional)
1/4 Cup Ketchup
1 Tablespoon Of Yellow Mustard
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1 Tablespoon Of Apple Cider Vinegar
1 Tablespoon Of Sriracha*
salt and pepper to taste

For the cheese sauce:

2 Tablespoons Of Butter
2 Tablespoons All-purpose Flour
2 cups of milk (or broth)
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

Direction:

For the Sloppy Joe macaroni:

Cook the bacon in a large frying pan, set aside and drain most of the fat.
Add the beef and onions and cook until the beef is cooked.During cooking, break it with a spoon before draining the excess fat.
Add the garlic, Paprika and tomato paste and cook until fragrant, about a Minute.
Add the broth and macaroni, bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer until the pasta is cooked, about 8 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the cheese sauce.
Mix the cheese sauce, beans, Ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire Sauce, sugar, vinegar and Sriracha and season with salt and pepper.

For the cheese sauce:

Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat.
Sprinkle in the flour and bake until lightly browned, about a Minute.
Add the milk, mix well and bring to a boil and cook until it thickens a little, about 2-3 minutes.


Reduce the heat to medium-low, add the cheese and cook until it melts into a smooth sauce.
Option: Sprinkle 1 Cup of grated Cheddar cheese on top and roast in the oven until the cheese is melted!
